The courses are now held entirely in e-learning. Will it really be enough for such a training?  Will there be sufficient follow-up like the one we would have had with face-to-face training? Will we be able to address our questions to the teachers on a regular basis?

The advantage of e-learning training is that you will be able to view and review the different documents that will be sent to you. During a lecture, you can’t listen to a passage again if you missed it. On the contrary, in this formula, you can listen to it again as many times as you need and as many times as you wish. The whole process of understanding the courses, the disorders, why yoga is indicated, how to choose this or that tool is therefore even better in e-learning.

In addition, you will be able to ask all the questions you wish once a month during the web conference (webinar), both on theoretical and practical points: how to practice abdominal breathing, the difficulties you will have encountered, etc

You should also know that postures and breathing exercises are not complicated exercises at all. In yogatherapy, we will always look for the simplest exercise and tool to achieve the result. This excludes complex postures.

Finally, this training is reserved precisely for professionals and yoga practitioners. It is not a yoga teacher training that “teaches” you to do the exercises. You must already have the basics, which is why the students are selected upon application, which we carefully study.

All in all, it is the motivation and the time you will spend studying that will be decisive. Workshops in groups of five students allow you to train in a concrete manner. These workshops take place at the end of each year and really allow you to correct and adjust your skills to perfectly master the tools. You will notice that once you have acquired the “state of mind”, the “way of doing things”, you will have no more difficulty in identifying the problem that your pupil/patient presents and then choosing the necessary tools to obtain the expected results.

You say that the workshops are held at the end of the year, do you have to have validated the year? What happens if we don’t pass the year-end exam?

The workshops are done in groups of five. You take turns being the yogatherapist and the patient/student. The other three students during this time observe and write down what they notice.

In order for you to benefit fully from the workshops, you must have followed all the training beforehand and have acquired the theoretical knowledge. If you have followed all the training well during the year, you will easily be able to take advantage of the workshops. But you must understand that you can’t take advantage of them if you haven’t yet read or learned anything about the courses.

I insist: the validation of the year by the final exam in the form of a quiz is by no means selective, it is simply necessary to confirm that you have followed the courses.

But if one reason or another, we still fail the final exam, can we still participate in these workshops?

If we don’t validate the final test, what about the second year of training? Are we reimbursed?

E-learning is designed so as to allow you to follow the course at your own pace. Even if you do not pass the quiz test at the end of the first year, you automatically access the second year training and all its media: slideshows, lectures, audios, webinars… There are no refunds.

Is the training downloadable?

The courses (sound slideshows) are in PDF format and can be downloaded to your computer. It is possible to print the visual support of the slideshows on paper if you wish. However, it is not possible to download the animation to watch the slideshow (which then becomes a video). To watch a slideshow, you must be logged in.

Is the training always available?

The training is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can follow it at your own pace (slideshows, audios, videos etc). You also have access to the webinars at any time during the two years of training.

Is the training accessible from the outset in its entirety or is it made available course by course?

The training is not available in its entirety from day one. It is sent each month in a “bundle”. Each month you will have the new courses which are built up progressively. You will also receive the audio to train you to use the tools and to conduct the yogatherapy sessions as well as the documents and consultation help sheets. Usually, it is sent after the webinar at the end of the month. You will therefore receive 10 “bundles” between September and June of the first year and 10 more in the second year. Each “bundle” consists of a course unit, divided into lessons and chapters.

For how long can I have access to the training material after I have purchased and completed the training program ?

The training lasts 2 years from June 2020 to October 2022 of the second year.

Nevertheless, if you wish to maintain access to the education material at the end of the training, you can join the IDYT Post Training Network, subject to a membership fee, which allows you to keep access to all the courses, to the course updates (of which you are informed of when there are changes), but also to the monthly newsletter “Le Journal de la YogaThérapie” (in French), access to the consultation of the memoirs, registration in the Yogatherapist Directory, etc. You will find more information about the IDYT Post Training Network on the page Continuing Education

I don’t feel very well prepared anatomically and physiologically for the postures but also for the breathing exercises. In my training as a yoga teacher, we didn’t have enough training on these elements in my opinion. What level is required?

The courses that have been taught on for almost 30 years have shown that there were no particular difficulties for yoga teachers to follow this training program, quite the contrary. However, if you wish, you will soon have three e-learning courses available:

  1. The first on the anatomy, physiology and the psychological and symbolic dimension of yoga postures.
  2. The second on the anatomy, physiology and the psychological and symbolic dimension of breathing and pranayama.
  3. The third one on the psychological, symbolic but also physiological and neurophysiological dimension of meditation and relaxation.

If I am not available one evening to attend the webinars, are they otherwise accessible?

Yes, absolutely, they will be available on your training platform and you will be able to view them if you were unable to attend and ask the questions live via chat as well as review them as much as you like.

Do I have to pay all at once?

You can choose to settle in one or several times, by credit card or bank transfer, according to the training agreement you will have signed with the IDYT. To access each course unit, you must be up to date with your payments.

I would like for my employer or a professional training organism to cover the costs of the training program. How can I proceed?

For the moment, the training program and all its procedures are being administratively modified, we cannot therefore give you information concerning the procedures to follow nor can we issue quotes.

If you are a yoga teacher member of the FIFPL, the payment of the training course fee is your responsibility and the FIFPL will reimburse you part of that fee at the end of your training.

I still have questions, how may I proceed?

Register on the document that will be available from March 1st for the online conference. Doctor Coudron will present the training and you will be able to ask him all the questions live.

Are we going to see patients?

No. But I am setting up the possibility of doing two or three-half-day “internships” to go and see how the alumni are practicing yogatherapy. For the moment, this is option is not yet available.

On the e-learning platform, as it is an LMS, we will be able to interact with the other students? Will we be able to create a community?

Yes, there is a forum where you can communicate with each other.

Do we have a tutor to whom we can ask questions to?

Questions are asked directly to me by email and during online conferences. I will answer them personally. At the moment there is no tutor.

What happens after the training? Do we get help to develop the activity, to introduce yogatherapy, etc.?

After the training program, there is a continuing education (see the Continuing Education page) and you will have from the very first lessons information about ethics, deontology, career prospects and other opportunities. You will also have courses on how to work in an institution.

If you have other questions, do not hesitate to ask me. The answers will be sent to you directly by email and will be added to this list. Thank you.
